Stockport – Reasons why Landlords should invest

Stockport

Stockport located just seven miles outside of Manchester city centre and is a town known for being a key part of the North West’s industrial past. Stockport is still one of the strongest economies today and has some excellent connectivity to key locations around the country, thus making Stockport an excellent buy-to-let location.

Stockport used to be a powerhouse in the textiles industry and has now been chosen for a number of tech, digital and creative companies, because of this, by 2035 there are 1500 extra jobs expected to be created in Stockport alone.

Stockport is also an excellent location for commuters as the M60 motorway runs directly through making it easy to access all areas of Greater Manchester and not to mention being only 20 minutes’ drive to Manchester City Centre.

Stockport railway station is located in the heart of the town itself, making it an easy way to access several different parts of the country, in addition, Manchester City centre is just a short train ride away, of around 10 minutes.

Another great benefit is that Manchester’s Metrolink service is due to be extended to Stockport, enabling further direct links to various parts of Greater Manchester.

Regeneration within the Stockport area is currently in progress. Completed already is Stockport’s Redrock entertainment complex which provides a multi-cinema, various shops and restaurants. The next part of the regeneration will be the train station transformation into a transport interchange. There are also plans to rejuvenate the original town centre providing a vast amount of new employment and public spaces.

A ‘green urban village’ is also due to be created with much better walking and cycling routes, plus better transport links which will then make Stockport town centre much more accessible to pedestrians.
