Defibrillator in Cheadle

We are delighted to announce that we finally have a Defibrillator in Cheadle village!   Stuarts Property Services are proud sponsors of the first public defibrillator in Cheadle village which has been installed TODAY!  Our apprentice Lewis Hamilton dealt with the sponsorship design as part of his marketing module of his apprenticeship and is very proud of his achievement as we are too. 

This is such an important piece of news and we need you all to share this news to all of your friends and family so that the word is spread that this life saving equipment is in our village.  After months of awaiting planning permission, Cheadle’s first defibrillator has been installed on Eden Place in Cheadle on the wall of Brezzo’s and opposite Costa Coffee.   These public defibrillators SAVE LIVES….  If a defibrillator is used within 3-5 minutes of cardiac arrest, survival rates jump from 6%  to 74%

We were so excited at this news today and wanted to share it with you immediately.  We even managed to persuade ambulance staff from the Alexander Hospital to pose for us to show what an amazing community project this is to be a part of – a huge thank you to Jackie and Keith who were delighted to endorse the wonderful installation of the defibrillator in Cheadle.

                                              

Defibrillator in cheadle –  the Facts about defibrillators and CPR

  • Always start CPR immediately – then use an AED  (Automatic External Device)  once located.  Click HERE to see “How to perform CPR” video from St Johns Ambulance
  • If a defibrillator is used within 3-5 minutes of cardiac arrest, survival rates jump from 6% to 74%
  • Seven out of ten cardiac arrests occur outside of hospital. Currently in the UK, only 2-3% of these people survive.
  • Effective bystanders CPR provided immediately after sudden cardiac arrest can double a victim’s chance of survival.
  • For every minute that goes by without CPR or defibrillation, a victim’s chance of surviving a Sudden Cardiac Arrest drops 7-10%.
  • An AED is safe. It will not allow a shock to be given unless the heart rhythm requires a shock.

An important message regarding Defibrillators that is often misunderstood is that they are EASY TO USE AND THEY TALK YOU THROUGH THE PROCESS WITH THE CLICK OF A BUTTON.
